Lanthanum tungsten electrodes (EWLa-1.5 according to the AWS classification) consist of a minimum of 97.80 percent tungsten and 1.30 to 1.70 percent lanthanum. These electrodes are characterized by excellent arc ignition, low wear, high arc stability and excellent re-ignition.
