We are pleased to present you compressed air connection systems from the Italian company GAV. This long–established Italian manufacturer supplies compressed air preparation components such as regulators, filters and lubricators, as well as tools like tyre inflating guns, blow guns, sandblasting guns and many others. In this section we invite you to discover quick coupling and connector systems compatible with the Rectus 26 series.
GAV type 26 pneumatic quick couplings are used for quick and multiple connections of pneumatic hoses without pressure loss, e.g., when connecting tools to installations. Their construction consists of two parts: a socket (female) and a plug (male), which connect to each other using steel locking pins. The socket contains a valve that opens the airflow upon connection with the plug.
Purpose of GAV Quick Couplings
Connecting pneumatic tools: They allow for quick connection and disconnection of pneumatic tools from the installation.
Installation construction: They facilitate the construction and modification of pneumatic installations.
Frequent changes: They allow for quick disconnection and reconnection of circuit parts when required for technical or safety reasons.
Construction of GAV Pneumatic Quick Couplings
Quick coupling (socket): It has an internal valve that opens upon connection with the plug. It is usually made of brass, nickel-plated. Inside, there is a mechanism for connecting to the plug.
Connector (plug): It is the male part of the coupling. It connects to the socket using hardened steel locking pins.
Sealing elements: They ensure tightness and prevent leaks. They are often made of NBR (nitrile-butadiene rubber).
Body: Made of brass, nickel-plated, which ensures durability and corrosion resistance.
Spring: Made of stainless steel (e.g., AISI 302).
Which to choose?
Criteria for selecting GAV type 26 quick couplings include:
working pressure (up to 35 bar),
temperature range (from -20°C to 100°C),
material of construction (usually nickel-plated brass, with NBR seals and a stainless steel spring)
thread size (e.g., 1/4", 1/2"). Additionally, the type of thread (internal or external) and nominal flow (DN) should be considered, which for this group is standardly 7.2 mm (DN 7.2).
