What are paint spray gun cups?
Paint spray gun cups are used to store and supply paint material (paint, lacquer, glue, etc.) to the gun. They can be an integral part of the gun (gravity cups) or a separate element (pressure cups). Their construction and type depend on the method of material supply and the size of the painted surface.
Types of cups:
They are mounted directly on the gun, and the material flows to the nozzle under the influence of gravity. Often used in guns for small jobs where high pressure is not needed. The capacity is usually 0.5-1 liter.
They are separate vessels into which the material is forced under air pressure. They allow for painting larger surfaces and using thicker materials. They can have a capacity ranging from a few to several dozen liters.
Construction of cups:
Typically made of plastic or aluminum, they have the shape of a can with an opening for mounting on the gun. They may have an external or internal thread.
Made of aluminum or galvanized or stainless steel. They have valves for pressure regulation, air and material connections, and sometimes also mixers (pneumatic or electric) and level sensors.
Applications of cups:
For painting small surfaces, model work, furniture restoration, minor repairs.
For painting large surfaces, industrial work, using thick and viscous materials.
Choosing a tank:
When choosing a tank, consider:
- Type of paint material (viscosity, dilutability).
- Size of the painted surface (tank capacity).
- Type and model of the gun (gravity, pressure).
