This wire is a widely used alloy, classified as a general purpose binder. OK Autorod 5356 is usually chosen because of its rather high strength.

Series alloys welded with OK Autorod 5356, with a content above 3% Mg and an operating temperature above 65°C are susceptible to cracking due to stress corrosion cracking. The alloy is not thermally machined. Welding current DC(+).
